What is reorder level?

Reorder level is the stock quantity at which you must place a new purchase order to avoid a stock-out before new stock arrives from the supplier.

Simple Reorder Level

Reorder Level = Average Daily Sales × Lead Time + Safety Stock

Safety Stock Formula

Safety Stock = (Max Daily Sales × Max Lead Time) − (Avg Daily Sales × Lead Time)

Max Usage Method

Reorder Level = Maximum Daily Sales × Maximum Lead Time

Days of Stock Remaining

Days Remaining = Current Stock ÷ Average Daily Sales
